![]() ![]() ![]() there's multiple people claiming to represent AetherSX2 on various social media - they are not legit) Stay safe out there, and watch out for scammers, there seems to be a lot of them. It doesn't make sense to continue working on a hobby which isn't fun anymore. You can still download/use the app and it will continue to work for the forseeable future.ĪetherSX2 was always meant to be a fun hobby for me, not profit driven. ![]() There seems to be no "funny business" taking place, and since both are open source, this makes it easier for bugs to get squashed and the development process to continue to progress.Page Unavailable AetherSX2 development is indefinitely suspended.ĭue to neverending impersonating, complaints, demands, and now death threats, I'm done. The fact of the matter is that while Play! and AetherSX2 are still being actively developed, they're really the only PS2 emulators that we can recommend in good faith. This leaves plenty of potential users left with subpar performance, which is just not a great experience, especially if you were to spring for "DamonPS2 Pro." DamonPS2 is only recommended to be used with devices using at least the Snapdragon 835 chipset. At the time, DamonPS2 was removed from the Play Store before the requested DMCA takedown was able to run its course, which would have left DamonPS2 banned from the Play Store.įinally, there's the matter of performance. In a blog post back in 2018, the developers released a statement in regards to the code that they claimed was stolen by the DamonPS2 developers. This is another PS2 emulator (and a quite popular one) for PC users who want to play their favorite PS2 games. However, with the update to version 3.0, DamonPS2 started requiring a constant internet connection and access to users' personal data, such as contacts and location data.Īnd if that wasn't enough, there's also the matter of whether the DamonPS2 team "stole" code from the developers of PCSX2. First of all, DamonPS2 is closed source, which isn't strange on its face since there are plenty of apps that go this route versus being open source. Thanks to the EmuGen Wiki and some Reddit investigating, there are more than a few privacy concerns to be aware of. However, in the past few years, there have been some rather questionable discoveries made by users who have dug deep into the company behind DamonPS2 and the information that is collected on your device. Why we recommend that you stay away from Damon PS2įor years, DamonPS2 has been the default PS2 emulator on Android, as there really haven't been any other contenders. Best of all, Play! is completely free to download and use, and you won't have to worry about any in-app purchases. The developers do have a list of compatible (and non-compatible) games on GitHub, so you can sift through to see what works and what doesn't. For example, the current version number on the Play Store is only 0.51, so Play! hasn't even hit its 1.0 release yet. You won't find a vast library of supported games, as the developers are continuing to push regular updates to fix issues that arise. ![]() But what you will find is an automatic library scanner that locates your PS2 games and doesn't require you to download and use a BIOS in order to work. Instead, the developers are only focusing on being able to provide a solid emulation experience for those who want to play PS2 games on their Android phones.īecause the app is still relatively new to the scene, you won't find a bunch of bells and whistles to tweak gameplay settings. And like its PS1 counterpart, it doesn't go down the RetroArch path by being compatible with a bunch of different consoles. Unlike something like ePSXe for PS1 emulators, Play! is a relatively new emulator to land on the Play Store. ![]()

Subliminal advertising is advertising that contains words, images, or sounds designed to convey a message to an audience that the conscious mind can’t observe. Still, despite many consumers being aware that subliminal advertising is widely used, 77% of respondents to one survey said they would continue watching a television show if they were aware that the commercials shown contained subliminal messaging. Studies have shown that consumers generally consider the practice manipulative and unethical, and in highly regulated industries with stringent advertising requirements, these types of subliminal messages can get advertisers into legal trouble. It can target inappropriate audiences, such as ads for alcohol or tobacco products that appeal to children and teens or ads for pharmaceuticals that imply an off-label use. In the "coarse" raster the pixelation is already clearly visible, even at this scale. However, if you zoomed in closely, you'd see the polygon edges of the fine raster would start to become pixelated, whereas the vector representation would remain crisp. In many cases, both vector and raster representations of the same data are possible:Īt this scale, there is very little difference between the vector representation and the "fine" (small pixel size) raster representation. ![]() Note that whereas raster data consists of an array of regularly spaced cells, the points in a vector dataset need not be regularly spaced. The points may be joined in a particular order to create lines, or joined into closed rings to create polygons, but all vector data fundamentally consists of lists of co-ordinates that define vertices, together with rules to determine whether and how those vertices are joined. Vector data consists of individual points, which (for 2D data) are stored as pairs of (x, y) co-ordinates. This means that your GIS can position your raster images (DEM, hillshade, slope map etc.) correctly relative to one another, and this allows you to build up your map. The difference between a digital elevation model (DEM) in GIS and a digital photograph is that the DEM includes additional information describing where the edges of the image are located in the real world, together with how big each cell is on the ground. The key point is that all of this data is represented as a grid of (usually square) cells. In GIS, the pixel values may represent elevation above sea level, or chemical concentrations, or rainfall etc. Simplifying slightly, a digital photograph is an example of a raster dataset where each pixel value corresponds to a particular colour. ![]() Raster data is made up of pixels (or cells), and each pixel has an associated value. However, the distinction between vector and raster data types is not unique to GIS: here is an example from the graphic design world which might be clearer. In GIS, vector and raster are two different ways of representing spatial data. Latitudes and Longitudes in Raster data are displayed in the form of closed shapes where each pixel has a particular latitude and longitude associated with it. Latitudes and Longitudes in Vector data are displayed in the form of lines, points, etc. The difference is in the way they are displayed. Raster models are useful for storing data that varies continuously, as in an aerial photograph, a satellite image, a surface of chemical concentrations, or an elevation surface.Īll I have understood from the above is that both vector and raster data constitute of "latitudes and longitudes", only. Raster data model: A representation of the world as a surface divided into a regular grid of cells. Vector models are useful for storing data that has discrete boundaries, such as country borders, land parcels, and streets. Vector data model: A representation of the world using points, lines, and polygons. ![]() ![]() Plenum Cover for installation in airhandling spaces.
